Registered Nurse - Mental Health Services for Older Adults

Kingsley Mortimer Unit (Ward 12) – is a 19 bed inpatient unit on the North Shore Hospital site that provides inpatient assessment and treatment for the two older adult community assessment and rehabilitation teams.
Are you passionate about caring for older adults with acute mental health and addictions issues including dementia? Have you had recent experience in the mental health older adult’s acute inpatient setting? Is working with older adults the reason why you became a Mental Health Nurse?

We are looking for a Registered Nurse to work part-time (64 hours per fortnight) in our busy and dynamic acute admitting inpatient unit based on the North Shore. Ideally you will have had recent experience in older adult mental health, with a post graduate qualification in mental health. The successful candidate will have a compassionate and caring approach to working with older adults, skills in mental health and physical health assessment, and an interest in behavioural assessment and management.
You will have strong communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary environment, and support patients, families and carers. You will be committed to learning and developing alongside the team, and proactive in seeking learning opportunities.
To be considered for this position you should have a required qualification with a comprehensive or Psychiatric Nurse registration as well as a current APC. This is a fully rostered shift position.
